Come and enjoy an afternoon of dance with Diene 'Waaw waaw Sagna!

Born into a family of dancers, Diene worked with his older brother and respected artist and choreographer for the National Ballet of Senegal, Mbaye Ndiaye for a number of years, before training at the prestigious Centre Blaise Senghor in Dakar, Senegal. In 2008 Diene moved to the UK and founded his company ‘Yaye Dib Sabar’.

Now based in London, Diene regularly teaches and performs specialising in Sabar dance but is also extensively qualified in Djembe dance originating from Mali, Burkina Faso and Guinea-Conakry. Diene travels worldwide delivering workshops and performances, collaborating with other artists to create exciting and innovative projects and choreographies. He has taught, performed and choreographed for various educational organisations and dance groups across Europe, in Dubai and Brazil and has performed with incredible artists such as Baaba Maal, Youssou N’Dour, Angelique Kidjo, Mory Kanté, Coumba Gawlo Seck, Salif Keita, Cheikh Lô and Carlou D.
